At Defiance, we try not to take ourselves too seriously. But when it comes to what we do – well, we do. That includes looking after the welfare of our guests and the responsibility of earning and maintaining your trust and confidence throughout your experience.
We also believe there is no better way to disengage autopilot for a few hours than getting out on the water. And we want you to feel confident that your choice to do so won’t be encumbered by concerns brought forward by COVID-19.
In addition to continuing with existing sanitation practices where guests have access to shared river gear. Defiance is taking the following additional steps to mitigate the threat of transmission:
Transportation: The interiors of buses and vans are sanitized multiple times a day. And ridership volume and spacing adheres to real-time recommendations from public health officials and industry best practices. Face coverings are recommended while underway in Defiance busses and vans.
Shared River Gear: PFDs (lifejackets), helmets, paddles, river booties, splash gear, and wetsuits are sanitized after every use.
Guest and Staff Interaction: Defiance staff assisting with gear fitting wear face coverings. Face coverings by guests are recommended during gear fitting.
Guest Check-In: Taking advantage of the e-waiver attached to your booking confirmation is strongly encouraged. Not only does this eliminate a potential point of transmission, but it also means that’s one less thing you have to do upon arrival and can expedite the process of getting you on the river. And at Defiance, guests are greeted and geared up in an open-air setting.
While on the River: Best practices will be adhered to at all times while on the river on commercial trips. Options are also available for private rafts and transportation with Defiance Private Experiences.
Photo Kiosks: Photo kiosks used to review and purchase trip photos are sanitized between uses.
Limited Group Sizes: Defiance has capped group sizes to minimize density and preserve Defiance’s desired guest experience.
